West Indies tour of Pakistan | ODI Series Postponed:

Covid-19 has once again raised its ugly little head for International Cricket. The ODI Series of the ongoing West Indies tour of Pakistan has been cancelled as of now after a tally of 5 Caribbean players tested positive for Covid-19 in two different phases. Upon arrival, Roston Chase, Kyle Mayers and Sheldon Cotrell tested positive for the virus and were ruled out of the T20I series. While on Thursday morning, 3 more players tested positive for the virus. Shai Hope, Akeal Hossein and Justin Greaves were the players who tested positive.

The Covid-19 cases haven’t remained limited just to the players, but members of the supporting staff have also tested positive lately. A total of 7 players had already been ruled from the West Indies squad, 6 of them due to the virus and 1 due to an Injury. On Thursday morning, West Indies cricket revealed that they’ll meet PCB officials and decide whether the tour can continue or not, after which the ODI Series was postponed.

The final T20I is currently being played at National Stadium Karachi but the ODI series has been postponed. The postponed ODI Matches will be rescheduled for June 2022. This will give equal opportunity to both sides to feature best possible playing-eleven. These 3 ODIs will are part of the ICC ODI Super League for 2023 World Cup.
