As the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) commences ahead, a pile of records is coming in the stats book of the IPL. From the batsmen to the bowlers and the fielders, every athlete is registering some breathtaking performances.
Among the list of IPL cricketers, one of the pioneers, Virat Kohli, who leads the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has crossed 6000 T20 leagues’ runs. Reaching the milestone, he becomes the only cricketer in the IPL to do so.
He achieved the feat while standing in the 16th match of the IPL 2021 as RCB faced RR. The skipper made 72 runs off 42 balls and remained not out being the top scorer from his end.
Virat Kohli reaches an impressive milestone
Kohli always has been splendid in the form of Indian cricket and the Indian league. This is not the only record the RCB captain has yielded but he also has several feats in the league.
We can mention one of the unbreakable records that he is the cricketer with most IPL runs in a single edition. He slammed 973 runs for the red army in 2016 and no player has even made 900 runs in a maiden format.
Notably, Virat Kohli now has 6021 IPL runs at an average of 38.35. After the win versus RR tonight, his team now stands at the top on the points table of the 2021 edition of the world’s cash-rich league.
Despite all the achievements, he is yet to win an IPL trophy for RCB as he was assigned captain duties back in 2013.
