Match 7 – Yasir Shah Guides Balochistan to a 7 wicket win over Southern Punjab:
Two Winless sides clashed with each other today in the afternoon encounter. Southern Punjab were asked to bat first today by Balochistan. As soon as the game began, Southern Punjab were blown away by Balochistan bowlers. The very first wicket fell on the first ball of the innings and afterwards it was a horror show by Southern Punjab. Their reckless approach hurt them badly.
Only 3 of their batsmen got into the double figures and apart from their skipper Sohaib Maqsood, no batsman could score more than 20 runs. Sohaib remained their top scorer with 24, as Southern Punjab were blown away for just 102 runs. Yasir Shah delivered a masterclass with the ball, he finished with figures of 3/11. Amad Butt also succeeded in picking up 3 scalps while Umaid Asif picked 2 wickets.
The chase didn’t begin swiftly as Imam-ul-Haq yet again failed to deliver. He fell early but afterwards Abdul Wahid Bangalzai and Bismillah Khan put up a fifty plus partnership to ease the chase for Balochistan. Southern Punjab were successful with picking 2 more wickets after Imam-ul-Haq but still the target was way too low to defend. Balochistan sealed the game in the 18th over by 7 wickets. Abdul Wahid Bangalzai was their top scorer with 58(55).
