Shahid Afridi and Iftikhar Ahmed React On Their Trade | HBL PSL Draft

Shahid Afridi and Iftikhar Ahmed React On Their Trade | HBL PSL Draft:

With just 2 days away from the draft of seventh edition of Pakistan Super League, Some Blockbuster trades happened in the league. Defending champions Multan Sultans traded Shahid Afridi and James Vince to Quetta Gladiators and got Quetta’s picks of Diamond and Silver Rounds. The Gladiators also pulled of another big trade when they traded their Wicket-Keeper batsman Azam Khan and got all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed in their squad.

Shahid Afridi always wanted to be a part of Quetta Gladiators in PSL before his retirement. Below is what he stated after his transfer to the Gladiator Family:

I am excited and pleased to join the Gladiator Family. In my final event, it is my wish to sign off with another PSL trophy. I will try to help my team and put up performances that can help us win the title.

This statement by Shahid Afridi confirmed that PSL 7 will be his final appearance in Pakistan Super League. Afridi has won PSL with Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans before. Before joining Quetta Gladiators, Afridi had represented Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi.

All-Rounder Iftikhar Ahmed was another blockbuster player who was traded to Quetta. Although Iftikhar has had some crazy stats in T20 Cricket recently, it was a hard decision for Islamabad United’s management to let him go. Below is how the off-spinning all-rounder reacted regarding his trade:

It is indeed a hard decision to move from Islamabad United. I am grateful to Islamabad United management for their understanding and support. They stood behind me in all my decisions. I am thrilled to join Shahid Afridi once again

Ifitikhar Ahmed and Shahid Afridi played together in 2017 for Peshawar Zalmi. Now in 2021, they will reunite once again, for Quetta Gladiators. The HBL PSL Draft 2022 will take place on 12th December, Sunday at High Performance Centre Lahore beginning at 3:00 PM (PST).
