Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Final : Iftikhar Ahmed 102 helped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa post 252 for 5 on the opening day of the pink-ball final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021-22 :

Iftikhar raised his first century of the season confronting 168 balls. He sewed a 104-run organization for the fourth wicket with Kamran Ghulam who scored 72 off 196 balls, hitting 11 fours. The right-hand batter Kamran tumbled to Mohammad Nawaz in the last session of the day. Iftikhar was the keep going wicket to fall right off the bat, when he was bowled by Waqas Ahmed for 102 confronting 170 balls, which included 13 fours. KP Wicketkeeper Rehan Afridi (23 off 53) and Asif Afridi (3 off 7) will continue their batting tomorrow. Waqas picked 3 for 52 for Northern.

Prior Northern won the toss and decided to bowl first. Regular skipper Nauman Ali was side lined because of a ankle injury, Umar Amin was named the side’s commander for the final.

Experienced pacer Waqas gave Northern the ideal beginning by sending back Fakhar Zaman and this current season’s driving run-getter Sahibzada Farhan on continuous bundles of the second over the match.
