Quaid e Azam Trophy 2021 Top Performers at The End of Round 4:

After 4 matches played by each team in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021, Southern Punjab leads the Points Table of the event by securing the only win of the tournament so far. Southern Punjab are then followed by Balochistan, Central Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While Northern are stuck at the bottom of the Points Table. The winning factor hasn’t played much part as all the games except one have ended as a draw. Teams have got points on the basis of first innings and second innings won or by getting their opposition all out.The pitches in the event are more favorable for the batsmen.

Leading the batting charts is Abid Ali from Central Punjab with 611 runs in 8 innings. Abid is averaging a Whooping 122 with 3 centuries in this season. However he won’t be participating in the event anymore as he’s all set to travel for Bangladesh series now. With an average of 109 and 547 runs, Sahibzada Farhan has continued his brilliant domestic season. Farhan was phenomenal in the National T20 Cup 2021 and he is continuing the form by delivering in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021. With 488 runs, Imam-ul-Haq is the 3rd batsmen of the season. His incredible average of 103 has earned him his Test Team call-up. Imam has returned to the Pakistan Test Squad after performing brilliantly in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021. He replaced Imran Butt in the National Team for the Bangladesh series. 2 of the top 3 run getters will be off to Bangladesh now for national duty and this opens up opportunity for some other quality batsmen to climb up the best batsmen chart.

Bowlers haven’t had much success in the event so far. However there are still some valuable contributions by the bowlers as well. Young Ali Usman from Southern Punjab has made headlines in the event. He’s the top wicket taker with 24 wickets at an average of 24. He has taken a 10 wicket haul in the match as well. Ali is then followed by the left arm crafty spinner, Zafar Gohar who has picked 16 wickets at an average of 41. Northern’s Muhammad Musa is third in the chart with 13 Wickets in the first 4 games. Musa has an average of 27 with one five wicket haul to his name. Although the pitches aren’t bowling friendly, yet the bowlers have put up some serious effort in the event so far.

The fifth round of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021 will begin from 17th November 2021. The event will now be continued without some major star players as they depart for Bangladesh Test Series.
