The sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 6) was rocking with immense smoke as the fourteen matches were successfully played. Seeing the improvements in the COVID conditions, the PCB even allowed a 20% crowd that was later enhanced to 50%.
The scene started when Wahab Riaz and Darren Sammy were allowed to enter the stadium the very next day after breaching the COVID bio-secure bubble. The virus might not have entered with them but it showed that rules do not matter and the violation will not cost.
Later, as many as three COVID cases turned out to be positive which later turned into a surplus figure of seven. The situation became alarming and the PSL 6 got postponed with no other option remaining.
The sudden news was shocking to hear for everyone as the news came a few hours back when Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators were all set to step in the ground for the match 15th of the event.
PCB to resume PSL soon
The CEO of the PCB, Wasim Khan is looking to organize event sooner. The speculations hint at May because there is no else window available this year later or sooner. The consequences will interrupt the tournament as it will not be possible if it does not take place in May.
“We will be looking at other windows and we hope to play the event at a later time,” he added.
Notably, the tournament was postponed after Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators taped up the fourteenth match of the HBL PSL 6.
