Pakistan to Host 4 Teams in 2022 | International Cricket in Pakistan:

As far as results are concerned, 2021 was a satisfying year for Pakistan cricket. However, there were some displeasing moments for Pakistan cricket as well. Like New Zealand refusing to take on the ground moments before the first ODI or England refusing to tour Pakistan. However things will change in the next year as Pakistan is all set to host 4 different teams in 2022. Following is the timeline of International Cricket in Pakistan in the upcoming year:

2022 will begin with Pakistan hosting Australia. Ever since the revival of cricket in Pakistan, fans always wish to see big teams and their big players playing in Pakistan. Well it will happen in March-April 2022 when Pakistan will host Australia for 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and a T20I Match in Pakistan. This is indeed the biggest step in the revival of cricket in Pakistan. Australia are the 5-time ODI world cup winners and they are also the defending champions of T20 World Cup. The fans would love to see Australian Cricketers playing in Pakistan.

West Indies will revisit Pakistan then in June 2022. The ODI Series between West Indies and Pakistan was scheduled for December 2021 along-with the T20I series, but due to multiple stars of West Indies side tested positive for Covid-19, the ODI Series was rescheduled for June 2022. All 3 ODI matches are part of the ODI Super League.

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup preparations will begin after the Caribbean Side departs. 7 T20Is will be played between England and Pakistan in 2022. This will draw great TV Ratings as well as fans would love to see England Team Playing in Pakistan. England will once again return to Pakistan in December then for three Test Matches which will be part of the ICC World Test Championship.

In the same month, as soon as England departs, New Zealand will arrive in Pakistan and would make-up for the series that they cancelled. New Zealand will play 2 Tests and 3 ODIs in Pakistan in December 2022 – January 2023. The Kiwi Side will then return to Pakistan in April 2023 for 5 more ODIs and 5 T20Is.

Meanwhile after hosting all these quality sides, Pakistan will be hosting 50-Over Asia Cup in 2023 as well as Champions Trophy 2025. This is indeed the redemption of Cricket in Pakistan. After having no International Cricket for years, Pakistan will have an action packed cricket season in the upcoming years.
