Pakistan and Zimbabwe have finally initiated their journey towards a two-match test series that began today at Harare Stadium, Harare. The two teams played Day 1 of the first Test match. The hosts won the toss and chose to bat first.
The men in green stepped into the ground to bowl and field. With the return of Hasan Ali and the inclusion of Nauman Ali, Sajid Khan, the bowlers stayed economical grasping early wickets to blow the Zimbabwean batting line-up.

Pak vs Zim 1st Test: Top performers of the Day 1
Hasan Ali, who had not been a part of the team following his consecutive injuries, has returned to the squad with new ambitions and energy.
He has been showing his skills on the ongoing tour and did not forget to do so on Day 1 of the first test. He picked four wickets that too while staying economical.
Hasan maintained an economy of 3.53 delivering 15.00 overs yielding only 53 runs. The bowling all-rounder had 2 maidens delivered.
Shaheen Shah Afridi:
Shaheen Shah Afridi joined forces with Hasan and equally contributed with picking four wickets but stayed even more economical as he conceded only 43 runs.
He delivered 5 maidens at an economy of 2.84. The fast bowler targetted the likes of Muzarabani, Ngarava, Chisoro, and opener Masavaure.
Roy Kaia, the Zimbabwean all-rounder, does not have a long international career but a domestic one. He applied his domestic tactics in the first match he stood as he slammed 48 runs playing as a finisher for his team.
Using 94 balls, he hit seven fours at a strike rate of 51.06. Unfortunately, he became the prey of Hasan on an LBW.
Abdi Ali, the red-ball opener, was almost failing to inspire and getting a lot of criticism. With the full support by the management, he finally has used today’s innings to partially prove as a single inning cannot decide his potent.
His score counts 56 runs on 95 balls. The batter is to continue his new form on Day 2 as he remains not out with the Stumps for Pak vs Zim 1st Test.
Imran Butt, newly opening and pairing with Abid Ali in the tests, is equally contributing with Abid. He is continuing with 43 runs on 95 balls and will commence the show on Day 1.
Not only this, but the green bowlers are showing their stamina as the youngsters Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali have stayed very much economical as 3.36 and 2.64 delivering 11 overs picking none and one wickets sequentially.
Faheem Ashraf has also been dominant with an economy of 2.00 delivering 7 overs yielding only 14 runs and 3 maidens.
