Mutually, Pakistan Cricket Board and Cricket West Indies earlier agreed for hosting a five-match T20I series in men in the maroon’s realm ahead of the big event for preparation, the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. But, CWI on Sunday announced a reduction in the T20I series proclaiming to play four matches instead.
Amidst the ongoing West Indies vs Australia series, which will end on 26th July, CWI faced interruptions whilst organizing the scheduled Pak vs WI T20I series from 27th July. Hence, the management had no option but to postpone the series for a day ahead.
Consequently, the two contestants will meet in the opening T20I on 28th July at Barbados, Kensington Oval with the series to wind up on 3rd August. The hosts and the visitors will then encounter two red ball games on 12th and 20th August.
Pak vs WI T20I series reduced: A threat to Pakistan Cricket ahead of the T20 World Cup
Notably, the reduction indeed is a threat to Pakistan Cricket ahead of the T20 World Cup to begin this October as they were all set to use this five-match series as a practice forum for the big event.
Their consecutive defeats and downfall are not hidden and unpredictability has been a consistent part in the last few games. Recently, after a tremendous showcase in the opening T20I against England, the men in green got humiliated in the remaining two confrontations like in the ODIs.
