Fans furious on Pakistan's defeat versus England's newbies

141 and all out – such a heavy defeat and awful vogue to open the ODI series versus the challenging hosts, England. Pak vs Eng 1st ODI in no way favored the visitors as Pakistan registered multiple unwanted records during the filthy showcases.

With the Ben Stokes and co opting to bat first, the bowling line-up granted severe blows to the Babar Azam and co. The first three early wickets must be match-causing to them as the top-order clashed badly.

This was not something new for the men in green’s fans as they have been witnessing nasty woes at the top-order for a longer tenure. However, the watchers anticipated ‘magic’ in the ‘improved’ mid-order that did not come to display either.

It was speculated that the top-order issues are concealed by the mid-order often. Also, the inclusions of Sohaib Maqsood, Saud Shakeel, hyped the hopes in cerebrums which were later shattered when all ten departed showing no major performances.

Fakhar Zama, the left-handed opener remains the only top-scorer from the visitor’s end. He could score 47 runs off 67 balls in a pressure situation but his score did not help out struggling Pakistan anyhow.

The captain, Babar Azam registered his first ODI duck as a skipper and third overall. Clearly, he did not convey what was clearly expected as it would have been his 14th ODI century if played. The PSL 6 winner, Mohammad Rizwan failed either.

Imam-Fakhar’s partnership could have been outstanding and terrific for the hosts to deal with as seven English players were pulled out of the squad yesterday inducing newbies unknown to the ODI format. But these ‘newbies’ stole the whole show with the frightful bowling spells.

With multiple big names being eliminated due to COVID cases off the England squad. Pakistan had brighter chances of issuing a victory revenging the defeat in the T20I series last year. But starting with a massive defeat may once again cost a series loss against the same host.

Like this, team Pakistan has registered their lowest ever ODI score at Cardiff, Sophia Gardens alongside registering the fourth-lowest under 200 ODI score at the venue.

The fans go furious over the mediocre showcases wishing for their team to improve or else the fraternity may see the downfall of Pakistan Cricket as a whole very soon.
