Kotli Lions is one of the franchises of the Kashmir Premier League ready to represent the inaugural release of the extravagant contest, KPL 2021. The team represents a city named Kotli, in the Kotli district of Azad Kashmir in Pakistan.
History of Kotli:
The city of Kotli can be dated back to the fifteenth centenary when it was settled by a subsidiary of the royal family of Raja Mangar PalBack. Then, it was distinguished as ‘Kohtali’ meaning ‘under mountain’. Through the year, the name morphed into Kotli.
The city remained independent until subdued by Ranjit Singh in 1819. There is a famous village called Abad Dhanna termed as Paris by a few students.

The stakeholders’ list of the team comprises Mr. Khalid Zia, Mr. Mohammad Nasir Yousuf, Mr. Mirza Ijaz Baig, and Mr. Faisal Nadeem Mirza as the names.
Purpose: The franchise, Kotli Lions strives to elevate the local talent of Kashmiri youth by instating a cricket academy in Muzaffarabad, accommodating Kashmiri players to obtain recognition.
Notably, the owners of Kotli lions see the franchise as an opportunity to moreover enhance their endeavors in giving back to the region Azad Kashmir.
They anticipate highlighting the Kashmir cause manifesting solidarity with the community alongside formulating a delicate image across the borders as well.
