Sri Lanka renowned pacer, Lasith Malinga has hung up his boots choosing to retire from all formats of cricket. The saddening news popped up on Tuesday marking an end to his glorious international career.
The pacer made the shocking announcement via his social media forums. The greatest of all bowlers, who earlier retired from ODIs and Tests, put an end to his T20 career today closing his cricket chapter forever.
Opening up about his retirement, he said on his YouTube channel that,
“Today I decided I want to give 100% rest to my T20 bowling shoes. I want to thank each and everyone who supported me and blessed me throughout my T20 journey.”

The fans always anticipated Malinga’s return when he left unchosen or refrain from playing a single series. Later, he started pulling himself out of the T20 tournaments. If the devotees still yearn to see him, even IPL is not the option anymore.
