Match eight of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL 2021) witnessed Roar vs Growl as Kotli Lions competed with Muzaffarabad Tigers. The game ended in Tigers’ favor despite yielding a colossal target of 196 runs.

Muzaffarabad Tigers outclassed Kotli Lions in high scoring competition

Kotli Lions captain Kamran Akmal made the right decision to bat first after winning the toss as Syed Abdullah scored 48 runs in five overs with Kamran.

Young Abdullah took full advantage of the power play and hit four fours and two sixes off just 16 balls in an electrifying 35-run inning.

Akmal was overpowered by Mohammad Hafeez who scored 27 runs off 23 balls with 5 fours. After surrendering Ehsan Ali (11), the score had reached 85 in ten overs. Saif Badar became a spectator at one end.

Asif Ali was seen washing the bowlers who played a stormy inning of 67 runs off just 34 balls with four fours and five sixes while Badar remained unbeaten with 28 runs. During the same time, Khalid Usman’s score was 19 *.

Sohail Tanveer, Arshad Iqbal, Usman Yousuf, and Mohammad Hafeez took one wicket each.

The 196-run target was not easy for the Muzaffarabad Tigers, but with Zeeshan Ashraf’s smoky batting, no target was difficult. Timur Sultan (4) initially left with Zeeshan while Sohaib Maqsood (17) could not stay on the wicket after hitting a six.

On the other hand, captain Mohammad Hafeez was run out without facing any ball but Zeeshan Ashraf’s fast batting made no difference.

Muzaffarabad Tigers completed 100 runs in the 10th over while Tigers had crossed 150 in the 16th over. Sohail Akhtar scored 17 and Anwar Ali 15 but Zeeshan Ashraf, who played an unbeaten 107 off 62 balls with 18 fours and a six, not only scored the first century of the tournament but also made the Muzaffarabad Tigers win in the 19th over.

However, the fraction was taken out by Mohammad Waseem Jr. who scored 19 * off five balls with three powerful sixes. Akif Javed dismissed two players. Later, the game had to end up in the Tigers’ favor.
