The tenth game of the inaugural release of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL 2021) took place between the Rawalakot Hawks and Bagh Stallions.
Stallions, led by Shan Masood, won the toss and elected to bat first. With their batters stepping to the pitch, they collapsed sparing one on 156. The Hawks bowler, accompanied by Shahid Afridi, followed Afridi’s leading jests and concede an easy-to-chase target.
Masood’s man, Aamer Yamin backbone his team adding crucial 69 runs on 34 balls or the target could have been even coarse for the Hawks to rout. The rest of the batters did not inspire much not adding over 20 runs individually.
Zaman Khan, the Hawks bowling sensation, remained the top wicket-taker from their end as he grasped 3 Stallions yielding only 18 runs in 4 overs. Asif Afridi picked 2 wickets delivering 4 overs while conceding 21 runs. Hussain Talat, Afridi, and Waqas Maqsood picked one Stallion each on their turns.
Later, as the second inning began, Afridi and the lads were already tipsy on confidence whereas, Stallions marched in the ground with dull spirit not having much to defend.
KPL 2021: Rawalakot Hawks vs Bagh Stallions Match Report
Needing 157 runs from 20 overs, the Hawks batters from top to mid order looked in the mood of trailing. The openers, Ahmed Shahzad and Bismillah Khan added 27 and 33 runs respectively on 18 and 19 balls.
Later, Kashif Ali rocked with his smoky inning contributing 54 runs on 40 balls. Sahibzada Farhan shared 28 runs on 23 balls.
After Samiullah Afridi was gone earlier, Hussain Talat and Mohammad Imran were required to score a few more runs to reached the milestone and tallied 9, 2 runs in sequence remaining not out bringing up Hawks’ another victory to top the KPL 2021 points table.
It is pertinent to mention that the Rawalakot Hawks, being the table-toppers, are yet to lose any encounter and were succeeded in all of the rivalries battled yet. Out of 4 matches, one match got subjected to the cloud burst being added to the No Result column on the points table
