IPL 2023: Heinrich Klaasen Criticizes Embarrasing Behavior of Crowd

Heinrich Klaasen Criticizes Embarrasing Behavior of Crowd in IPL:

During the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad in the IPL 2023, the LSG back-room staff in the team dugout were apparently targeted by members of the crowd who threw nuts and bolts towards them in the last couple of overs of the first innings. The incident forced a break in play while it was resolved.

An object was also thrown from the stands during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings, which resulted in the third umpire overturning a no-ball call. Heinrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad were batting at the time and they expressed their displeasure at the situation. Klaasen stated that the episode disrupted the momentum of the Sunrisers batters and criticized the umpiring as well. Klaasen also said that this behavior from the crowd was not good.

Sunil Gavaskar expressed his bewilderment over the absence of proper protection for the dugouts and suggested that the Hyderabad Cricket Association should consider installing flexi-glass instead of the current makeshift umbrellas. He criticized the lack of adequate dugout infrastructure and claimed that it has become a major issue.
