England’s leader, Joe Root has continued his majesty in the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka as he has surpassed Kevin Pieterson to become the fourth-highest run-getter in the red-ball cricket format.

Root’s dominancy over the spinners ain’t hidden as he has smashed two back-to-back tons as his unbeaten 186 came in the second test helping the visitors to reach 339 losing 9 men atΒ  stumps on Sunday, day three.

Notably, it was his 19th red-ball century. The magical batter has passed 8,200 runs playing his 99th Test match. Currently, the player has 8,238 runs – also surpassing England’s David Gower by seven runs.
