We Were Not Asked Regarding Travelling to Pakistan: England Players:
England Cricket Team refused to travel to Pakistan for a T20 series scheduled in October prior to the World T20 2021. ECB took the decision after New Zealand abandoned the Pakistan tour. The question on everyone’s mind was that who was involved in the decision of cancelling the tour from England’s side. ECB’s statement was that the tour was cancelled to protect players Mental and Physical Well-being.
ECB was left embarrassed when the players union clearly denied this thing. The players union said that they were not even asked that whether the players want to tour Pakistan or not. The TEPP (Team England Player Partnership) strongly denied and told that at no point TEPP told ECB that players won’t be touring Pakistan.
ECB was solely behind this decision and this decision could affect the relations between both countries. As per some Pakistani Media reports, the tour could happen after higher government officials of England told the ECB that this decision can affect the relations between Pakistan and England, hence the tour should happen.
Earlier, PCB Chairman, Mr Ramiz Raja also expressed his anger and disgust when England refused to tour Pakistan. Pakistan tour England not once but twice during Covid-19 situation, and now when its England’s turn to repay, they have backed off.
