South Africa’s Faf Du Plessis has compared Quetta Gladiators’ Sarfaraz Ahmed’s captaincy with Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He stated the Gladiators’ leader is active on-field guiding performers alike Kohli. On the other hook, he notion the major discord between the previous Indian captain, MS Dhoni, and Sarfaraz. Probing the tactics, he tallied the captain cool is usually reserved on the field whereas, Kohli and Sarfaraz (similar) contrast Dhoni’s leadership.
Du Plessis has incited under Dhoni in the Indian Premier League (IPL) being an ignite part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Now, he is thrilled to play under 34-year-old Gladiators’ leader as he covets to experience the captaincies of diverse professionals.
“They [Sarfaraz Ahmed and MS Dhoni] are quite different. MS is quiet and reserved. He does most of his things instinctively on the field. Sarfaraz is the opposite and almost like Virat [Kohli] in the sense where he is always talking to the players, talking to the bowlers.
Always very passionate about how he captains his team and he shows it. There is no right and wrong way, they just have two different styles. He has obviously been a captain for Pakistan who has got the best out of his players. It is good because I always like playing under different leaders to see how they go about their business,”
It is pertinent to mention here that Sarfaraz, who was sacked from the captaincy of all formats in 2019, has been fronting the co with motivation. He has won the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 being the only captain to win an ICC final against India. Moreover, the men in green were at the climax of their career under his tenure in the T20I format. The 34-year-old has also won the PSL title commanding the Gladiators back in 2019.
