The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the Cricket Association squads for the 2020-21 domestic season on Saturday, 4th September.
The squad for the six teams has been finalized by the head coach, chairman, and chief executive of the respective Cricket Association during the respected presence of PCB’s chief selector Muhammad Wasim, Nadeem Khan, High-Performance Director, Junaid Zia, Domestic Cricket General Manager, and chief executives of the other Cricket Associations as observers.
Each squad composes 40 contestants out of which, 32, including the other 10 players, will be awarded domestic contracts. The names of these players will be announced in a short course.
It is pertinent to mention that the Akmal brothers, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, and Wahab Riaz, have been re-added to Central Punjab’s crew from the KPK. On the other hand, fast bowlers Kashif Ali, and Zaman Khan have got their maiden call up for Northern.
Surprisingly, the KPK region has picked all of its players from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Moreover, Balochistan’s local player representation % has been increased from 45 to 55% this season.
Notably, each Association will name sixteen-member crews for the first XI and second XI contests. These players can be interchanged between the two , first and second XI of the same associations. Now, the six Associations will gather at their respective major centers for pre-season camps.
Balochistan will have their camp at Quetta’s Bugti Stadium, Central Punjab’s will be conducted at LCCA Ground, Lahore, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, Northern’s at House of Northern, Islamabad, Sindh’s at National Stadium, Karachi and Southern Punjab’s at Multan Cricket Stadium
