Asif Ali Nearing A Big Record in World T20 History for Pakistan

Asif Ali Nearing A Big Record in World T20 History for Pakistan:

Asif Ali has created headlines all day after Pakistan’s win against Afghanistan. Asif Ali is in some red hot form so far in the ongoing ICC World T20 2021. He has smashed 7 sixes in 2 innings combined against New Zealand and Afghanistan. On both occasions Asif Ali steered Pakistan to victory. He also earned just his second Man of the Match award in T20I Cricket in this World T20. With a tremendous strike rate and plenty of sixes in the tournament Asif Ali could be closing in on an important record in Pakistan’s World T20 history.

Asif Ali has so far struck 7 sixes in the tournament in just 2 innings. He’s closing in on the record of most sixes ever struck by a Pakistani Batsman in a single edition of World T20. The record currently belongs to. Umar Akmal, who smoked 10 sixes in the 2010 edition of World T20. Umar is followed by Misbah-Ul-Haq who hit 9 sixes in 2007 T20 World Cup and then Nasir Jamshed who smashed 8 maximums in 2012 edition. Asif Ali has got at least 3 more games left, considering the fact that Pakistan have almost qualified for the Semi Finals. If Asif can hit 7 in just 2 innings, then striking 3 more in the next 3 games don’t seem to be a big task for him.

Currently Asif Ali is striking at a strike rate of 273.68 in World T20 2021. Asif Ali already created a record during his incredible innings against Afghanistan. His strike rate of 357.1 against Afghanistan was the highest strike rate by a batsman in successful run chases in World T20 matches (Minimum 20 runs). The fans wish that Asif continues his brilliant run of form and gets Pakistan closer and closer to winning their 2nd World T20 title.
